Frankie Tinsley Ravan

Frankie Sue Tinsley Ravan, age 78, of Marietta, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 29, 2023, after a brief illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor Matt Petty officiating. A Memorial Service at Victor Baptist Church in Greer, SC will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, September 9th, with visitation beginning at 1:15.

A native of Spartanburg County, SC, Frankie moved to Marietta, GA in 2003. She worked in the textile industry at Springs Industries and Conn Organ before returning to Springs Industries, retiring after over 20 years of employment. She was a long-time member of Victor Baptist Church in Greer, SC, and had attended Burnt Hickory Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA for the last 20 years. She traveled on multiple mission trips with Carpenters for Christ and with Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and she joyfully served in the kitchen for Wednesday night family dinners at Burnt Hickory. Mrs. Ravan enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts; her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Frankie always found ways to upcycle or repurpose almost anything around the house, proving her resourcefulness and ability to see beauty anywhere. She possessed one of the best Southern traits of being able to talk to anyone about any and everything for however long. She was unafraid to share her thoughts and opinions, no matter the audience or occasion. Always loving, she cared for those around her and raised her family to honor Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

Survivors include: Husband of 58 years, Eugene D. Ravan; 2 Daughters, Gina (Scott) Gasparini, Kennesaw, GA, and Margaret (Chris) Bailey, Acworth, GA; Sister-in-Law, Josephine Tinsley, Boiling Springs, SC; 3 Grandchildren, Andrew Gasparini, Emma Bailey, and Elaina Bailey; Nephew, Michael (Lynne) Tinsley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frankie Ravan’s memory to the Paulding Pregnancy Services or the Burnt Hickory Baptist Church Building Fund.
