Frances J. Nicotra

Frances Jackson Nicotra, age 90, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away peacefully Monday, December 25, 2023.

Frances was born in Carrollton, Georgia on November 29, 1933, to parents Clyde Pierre Jackson and Julia Mildred Brasher Jackson. She graduated from Valdosta High School in 1951 then attended Valdosta College.

On December 19, 1954, she married Rosario (Nick) Nicotra and moved to Marietta. Together, Frances and Nick welcomed three children: Glen Nicotra (Kathy), Jan Nicotra Fenton (Kevin) and Karen Nicotra Hamrick (Bruce). 

She worked her adult life as a bookkeeper in the construction industry, retiring in 1994.

Frances was a great example of putting others first.  She was devoted to her family and actively engaged in the ministries of Milford Baptist and then Macland Baptist. She loved serving her Lord through Sunday School classes, Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), and small ladies’ groups.

She actively participated in the lives of her grandchildren.  They were her pride and joy.  In her neighborhood, she enjoyed walking, conversing with neighbors, and passionately working in her yard.
