Fannie Mae Porter (Logue) transitioned from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on May 16, 2022. She was born on September 4, 1943 to Theodore and Videssa Gaines in Washington, D.C., the youngest of three children. Fannie moved to Philadelphia as a child and attended public school in Philadelphia. She obtained her GED later in life. She relocated to Georgia with her husband in 2006.
At the age of 37, she gave her life to Christ and was baptized on March 12, 1980. She was the Church Treasurer at Calvary United Church of Christ in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Grace Church, in Hiram GA. Later she joined Shaw Temple AME Zion Church in Smyrna, GA. Fannie loved the Lord and enjoyed scriptures. Fannie's favorite two scriptures are "Make Me to Understand Thy Way" Psalm 119; 25:32 and "Teach Me to Do Thy Will" Psalm 143; 1:12.
Fannie was previously employed at Quarter Masters in Philadelphia, PA where she worked with her husband's father. Her last place of employment was Transaction Management in Hatboro, PA until her retirement in 2005.
Fannie had many great qualities. She was a very kind, considerate and caring person who loved to laugh. She was a giving person and had a gentle spirit but she was best known for her strong, positive hugs! She loved to travel worldwide but her favorite was the Dominican Republic, Mexico and traveling to Virginia every year to deer hunt with her father. Fannie enjoyed roses and the various colors of carnations. She loved her grandchildren's corny jokes, politics and giving to worthy causes such as St. Jude's Children's Hospital. She was a member of the Set Bridge Club and her birthday group. She was loved by her family, which gave her the nickname Bump. Her daughters called her Beautiful and her sons called her Emma.
Fannie was married to her first husband, Charles Bell Logue for 25 years and her second husband, Harry Clemeth Porter for 21 years. From her unions, three daughters, and two step-sons.
Fannie was preceded in death by, parents Theodore and Videssa Boller Gaines, her siblings Carolyn L. Wilson, Theodore R. Gaines Jr., and her step son Jason Porter. She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Porter, Hiram GA, her daughters Sherree L. Benson, Abington, PA, Michelle A. Crawford (Theodore), Lynchburg VA, Dewanda D. Taylor, Philadelphia PA, her step son Dr. Ian D. Porter, Marietta, GA, 8 grandchildern,15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren, 5 nephews, 1 niece, and a host of other relatives, friends, and associates.

The family will receive friends on May 25, 2022 from 3pm until 5pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. Her Funeral Service will follow at 5pm in the Chapel of the funeral home.
