Everette Rufus Butler

Everette Rufus Butler, age 90, of Marietta, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Macland Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. He will lie in state at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
A native of Fayetteville, GA, Mr. Butler lived most of his life in Cobb County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. He retired from Lockheed after 36 years of employment, and was an active member of Macland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include: Wife, Bettye Grace Butler; 4 Children, Linda (Lonnie) Duncan, Marietta, GA, Larry (Cyndi) Butler, Senoia, GA, Rev. Brian T. (Jennifer) Butler, Clarksville, GA and Beth (Peter) Eady, Sarasota, FL; 4 Siblings, Evelyn Phillips, Dot (Dorin) Milam, Jean Mitchell and Charlotte (Lester) Bray; 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org .
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3pm-7pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
