Erik Larson

Erik Wesley Larson, 38, passed into the nearer presence of God on December 26, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital as the result of a sudden illness.
He is survived by his parents, Ernest W. Larson Jr., and Elizabeth Tonge Larson, brother Michael Andrew Larson and step brother Ernest W. Larson, III.
Other surviving family include his aunt, Barbara Smith and cousins Stephanie Smith Davis (Greg) and Johnny Smith (Greta).
During his early years Wesley was active in scouting and played soccer and baseball. Wesley loved 90’s music, concerts, and travel, especially to the beach.
On November 13, 1997 at age 17, he was driving home from his job at a local movie theater when he lost control of his car and hit a pole, resulting in a severe brain injury. Wesley was cared for in his home by his devoted and loving parents and brother for the rest of his life.
Although the accident left him deaf, speech impaired and in a wheelchair, Wesley loved to visit restaurants, Barnes and Nobel and he was particularly fascinated by IKEA and loved their food. He regularly attended St Teresa’s Episcopal Church in Acworth with his parents.
In the past two years a very special lady came into the family’s life in the person of Ann Igbonagwam, who assisted with Wesley’s care and came to love him and help him in many areas of his life.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church, 5725 Fords Road, N.W., Acworth, Georgia 30301.
