Erich Layton McInnis, III

Erich Layton McInnis III of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. He was born on April 21, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was raised in Decatur, Alabama with his two sisters and had a childhood filled with love and endless memories. He graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama and the University of North Alabama and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing. After college, he had a long career in corporate finance and treasury.

After leaving the corporate world, he pursued his many passions including working with his hands and doing projects around the house, flipping homes, working in the yard, and cooking. He loved entertaining and bringing everyone together. His door was always open, and he would drop anything at any given time to be there for anyone that needed him. He was a charismatic, loving soul and he will forever be missed by his friends and family.

Erich is preceded in death by his parents Erich Layton McInnis Jr. and Bonnie Ruth Reed McInnis. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Sager; daughter Erica Laine McInnis, daughter Melissa Nicole Torrez, her husband Antonio Villeda Torrez Jr. and their children Amiyah Jeanette Torrez, Layton Maverick Torrez, and Maddox Cruz Torrez; daughter Jennifer Rae Hogan, her husband Nicholas Scott Hogan and their children Brecken Cole Hogan and Adelyn Rae Hogan; sister Andrea Cheryl Gibson, her husband Blake Harden Gibson and their son Will Payton Gibson and his wife Cassidy Rose Gibson; and sister Kimberly Ruth Wolfe, her husband Mitchell Brady Wolfe and their children Lee Mitchell Wolfe, Rebecca Grace Wolfe, and Kristin Faith Wolfe.

To honor the life of Erich Layton McInnis III, we invite you to attend a celebration of life on March 2, 2024.

The service will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home (2480 Macland Road, Powder Springs 30127). Visitation will be held 2-3pm; followed by the service 3-4pm.

We invite all to celebrate Erich’s life in wearing the color and style of your choice.
