Today we celebrate the life of Emmagene Bryant Davis. She was born June 28th 1939 to Wade and Edna Bryant. She had one younger brother JW Bryant. While singing in a quartet of girls, she met the love of her life at Mount Moriah Baptist church, Howard Davis. It took him 6 weeks to ask her out but he did. They were married on May 24th 1958. She had 3 children Kenny, Keith and Barbara; Two daughter-in-laws, Drenda and Pat and one son-in-law, Don; 7 grandchildren from ages 34 to 22 and 6 great grandchildren from ages 13 down to 2 months old.
She graduated in 1956 from Murphy High in Murphy NC. Retiring twice, once from Ga. Steel and once from Publix Grocery. The kids shopping at Publix really loved her as she was known as the “cookie lady.”
One thing that she loved is music. She was saved as a young girl so that became one of her gifts of service to God. She played the piano for every church she attended while she could. She had what is known as the open door policy. If the doors of the church were open, she was there. She loved to cook and if you ever were around to enjoy one of her meals she always prepared your favorite dish.
She loved to see her family sing, play, talk, whatever God given talent they have, she loved to see it.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wade and Edna Bryant, her husband Howard Davis and her sister-in-law Azalea Bryant.
She is survived by her brother JW Bryant, Children Kenny and Drenda Davis, Keith and Pat Davis, Barbara and Don Morgan.
