Edward Lanier Parker, 77, of Marietta, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Funeral Services will be 11am Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Joey Hatchell officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Parker was a 1953 graduate of West Fulton High School and attended Southern Tech University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Smyrna. Mr. Parker retired from Lockheed Martin in 1991. As a father, “Big Ed” was a coach for his children and a fan/umpire for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Thomas Parker; Children, Lane (Millie) Parker, Paige Eubank, Drew (Diane) Parker, Todd (Cricket) Parker and Reed (Jeannie) Parker; Grandchildren, Shawn (Shannon), Morgan, and Bryce Parker, Lori (Jed) Warnock, Holly (Cris) Liliac, Kelly Eubank, Ashleigh (Matt) Ezell, Josh (Amber) and Adam Parker, Kevin and Ryan Hinton, Katie and Austin Parker, and Nick and Ryan Parker; Great Grandchildren, Zarah and Paige Parker, Brandon, Ansley and Hailey Warnock, Courtney and Dax Hickman, Sebella and Ryen Liliac and Riley Ezell; Sisters, Evelyn Price, Norma (Harry) Sellers, Myrna (Nash) Whatley and Joyce England; Aunt, Annis Harrell, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by parents, Irma and Hermon Parker, brother, Bob Parker, son-in-law, Doug Eubank and grandson, Evan Parker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:00a.m. until the time of service. Online guestbook available at
