Edward Craig Cockerham

Edward "Craig" Cockerham, 58, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.
Craig was born in Vallejo, CA on March 27, 1965, to parents Floyd Ralph and Ruth Ellen Cockerham. He attended Hogan High School in Vallejo, CA. He married his wife of 14 years, Susan, on September 19, 2009, and they rescued and raised multiple furbabies. Craig was a jokester, lover of animals, a faithful and hard worker, and always enjoyed meeting new people which made him a great fit for his career at the Varner Crossing Kroger, in Powder Springs GA as an Associate in the meat department. He would always greet everyone as if he had known them for years. He loved his Kroger family and customers with a passion and would do anything for anyone.
Craig was a lover of football, both college and professional, with his favorite teams being the University of Alabama, "Roll Tide" and the Las Vegas Raiders. He also enjoyed grilling out, swimming in his pool, and socializing with friends and family all over the country. He was a Simple Man, much like the song from his favorite band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Ralph Cockerham; his brothers, Mathew Cockerham, Steve Cockerham, both maternal and paternal Grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Harris) Cockerham of Powder Springs, GA; mother Ruth Ellen (Jackson) Cockerham of Poulsbo, WA; sisters Lori Nordsven (Al) of Deming, NM and Jenny Ludin (Tim) of Worthington, OH; children Derek Tarski and Heather Tarski of Stockton, CA; stepchildren Jennifer Rabig of Powder Springs, GA and Patrick Rabig of Smyrna, GA; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and his beloved furbabies.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 11:00am at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA, 30064. Family and friends visitation to start at 10:00am. A reception to follow at the home of Taylor and Nal Parashar at 623 Townsend Pl, Powder Springs GA 30127.
The dress is casual, as Craig would have wanted.
