Edgar S. Hollis (Eddie) 71 passed away October 24, 2017 at Emory University Hospital Midtown with a massive heart attack. His celebration of life will be held at Governors Gun Club, Powder Springs, GA November 5th, 2017 drop in between 2:00pm-5:00pm.
Eddie was born on January 24, 1946, in Clay County, Alabama to Bessie and Otis Hollis. Eddie retired from George F. Richardson June of 2017 where he worked for 40 years. He married his beloved wife of 51 years Shirley Fields in August of 1966. They raised two children. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends and family, playing Double Down Casino and loving on his pup sassy.
His family paid this tribute to him. Eddie was one of the kindest most loving gentle hearted man we've ever known. The past 17 years he compassionately shared his home life and all his love with his disabled brother-n-law Thomas Harm Fields. He loved unconditionally, while at the same time he was tough as nails, strong and driven. He worked hard and provided for his family. He established us with a stable home and life. He taught us the true meaning of family and love.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his daughter and son-n-law Tracy and Mark Hendon, of Acworth, GA, son and daughter-n-law Shannon and Carol Hollis of Dallas, GA. 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brother James Hollis and wife Marie of Carrollton, GA, brother Chuck Hollis and wife Lou of Athens, GA, sister Carolyn and Billy Joe Reeves of Culloden, GA, sister Delores Burton of Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by his father Ottis Russell Hollis, Mother Flora Bessie Hollis, brother Roy Hollis, sister Joyce (Sussie) Bryant.
