Earl D. Smith

Earl Dennis Smith, age 84, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Dr. Richard Walker officiating.

Mr. Smith moved to Cobb County 13 years ago from Auburn, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving at Eglin Air Force Base and Tripoli, Libya. He retired from Gates Rubber Company after 35 years. After retirement one of Earl’s greatest joys was serving others. He volunteered for several years at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home and with Campers on Mission where he served as Chaplin. He taught Sunday School classes to young men for over 30 years. He was a member and deacon at Macland Baptist Church.

Born in Gainesville, GA, to parents Zollie Dean Smith and Ethel H. Bennett Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Martha Lawrence Smith. He is survived by his 3 Children; Earl Dean Smith, Auburn, GA, Debora Smith, Kennesaw, GA and Cheryl (Mitch) Morris, Kennesaw, GA; Sister, Berinda (Larry) Campbell, St. Augustine, FL; Earl was lovingly known as “Daddoe” and “Paw Paw” to his 5 Grandchildren; Josh, Chad,Lauren, Adam and William and 3 Great Grandchildren; Logan, Riley & Asa Bennett
