Dr. Earl Marchman Phillips, 85, of Powder Springs, GA, formerly of Douglasville, GA, departed from his earthly journey to spend his eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 10, 2012. He was born in Douglas County, Georgia to the late Frank and Bernice Phillips on June 12, 1926. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Potter and three brothers, Ralph, Bill and Clint Phillips.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mary Ann Lay Phillips, a daughter, Floye Ann (Jim) Reed, a granddaughter, Robin (Eric) Eubanks and three great grandsons, Jamie Reed, Jacob and Jackson Eubanks as well as three dear friends, Charles and Betty Little and Sheila Miller.
Dr. Phillips attended Palmer Chiropractor College in Davenport, Iowa and graduated with honors. He loved all of his patients and strived to fulfill his oath of taking care of them. He was in practice for thirty years in Douglasville, Georgia, at which time he retired to go into the ministry with Jim and Tammy Bakker for four years. After that he and Mary Ann enjoyed many years of traveling the United States with a tour group.
His military service was with the U.S. Navy serving most of his time in Africa.
Reverend Don Johnson officiated with a going home service for Dr. Phillips, with entombment at Rosehaven Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA.
