Earl K Boone Jr.

May 4, 1932 — February 2, 2023

Earl Keith Boone, Jr. age 90, of Acworth, Georgia passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 surrounded by family. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 6, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia with Rev. Bill Rorie and Rev. Glenn Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, Georgia.

Earl was born on May 4, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia. Earl served in the Air Force during the Korean War with an Honorable discharge May, 1955. He was employed at General Motors at the Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta, Georgia; he was employed there for 34.5 at which time he retired. Once retired Earl learned that he wasn't one to stay at home; in 1984 he went to work for Cobb County Transit driving a bus and remained in that position for 10 years which at that time he truly retired. On July 2, 1960, Earl married the love of his life, Margaret. This July 2 would have been 63 years. Earl and Margaret had three children: Barry, Kellie, and Christy. Earl and Margaret raised their children in Mableton, Georgia. Earl was the rock of his family; his love was unconditional. There wasn't a summer that went by that he didn't take his family on a family vacation - even if funds were low - he always found a way to make that happen even if it meant eating fried bologna sandwiches and drinking chek colas from Winn Dixie. Family meant everything to him. That's a tradition he has passed on - the importance of carving out time just to be together as a family. Before retiring and after retiring he enjoyed gardening; working the yard; sitting in his garage with the garage door open enjoying the fresh air and chatting with neighbors passing by…I'm sure many of those neighbors and visitors heard him say more than once "ya'll come back ya hear". Earl didn't meet a stranger - he had twinkle in his Boone blue eyes and the biggest heart. Earl had a quick wit and a since of humor; he would have everyone laughing.

Earl was predeceased by his son, Barry Boone; his daughter, Kellie Humphreys; his brother Mowry Boone; his brother Bobby Boone; his sister Naza Meadows; his brother-in-law, James Coker; and his brother-in-law, Doug Coker. Earl was also predeceased by two of his best friends, Hubert Wood and Robbie Anagnostis. He met Hubert at General Motors when they first started working there before either were married. He met Robbie when he married Margaret in 1960. Both were great friends to Earl and his family.

Earl is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Christy Mau (Bill); granddaughter Jessica Milovich (David) along with his great-grandsons Bryson David Milovich (7) and Brady Boone Milovich (3); granddaughter Rhian Chavarria (Desmond); and many nieces and nephews and bonus kids that he considered his own. Just know that each and every one of you had a special place in his heart and he loved all of you beyond God's fence.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
