It is with great sadness and a lifetime of memories that the Petty family announces that Dorothy (Dot) Queen Petty of Dallas Georgia, on her 89th Birthday on April 10, 2021, passed from this temporary home called Earth to a gift of eternity with her Savior and Lord, Jesus.
Dot was born on Sunday, April 10, 1932 in Austell, Georgia and was a resident of Georgia her whole life. Dot attended Atlanta City Schools and has spent her whole life belonging, worshipping, and serving in many local churches around Georgia including Burnt Hickory Baptist. Dot will be forever remembered as a humble servant of King Jesus and her family, a faithful wife, and an example to all of a true disciple of Jesus.
Dot is survived by her husband of 72 years, Murphy Petty of Dallas Georgia. She is survived by her son David Petty (Freida), sister Hazel Gastley, grandson Matt Petty (Melissa), and great-grandsons Blake and Dalton Petty. Dot has been preceded in death by both her parents Kenny and Irene Queen and Lewis Lawson and siblings Kenny, Mary, Florrie, Lois, Gloria, and her grandson Eric Petty.
An outdoor graveside memorial service will honor Dot Petty on Tuesday April 13th. Family will receive friends at 2:00PM with service to follow at 2:30PM at Mozley Memorial in Lithia Springs, Ga.
