Dorothy "Dot" Hodges

Dorothy (Dot) Reid Hodges, age 82 of Powder Springs, GA, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on March 29, 2024.

Dot was born on March 9, 1942, to Charlie and Willie Mae Reid in Atlanta, GA. Dot graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1960, and followed with studies at a local business college.

In 1989, she married the love of her life David Hodges and the couple moved to Montgomery, AL. After retirement, Dot and David moved back to Powder Springs and became members of Macland Road Baptist Church. She spent her leisure time golfing, perfecting her painting skills, cooking favorite and new dishes, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Dot was predeceased by her husband, David Hodges, and her parents, Charlie and Willie Mae Reid. She is survived by her sister Charlene Townsend, brother Randy Reid (Kim), nieces and nephews, Connie Austin (Richard), Cheryl Handley (Joseph), Greg Townsend, Stacey Olsen (Robert), Kevin Reid, and Kelly Doreika (Daniel), along with 10 great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.

Visitation will be held at West Cobb Funeral home on Sunday, April 7^th at 1:30 pm following a funeral service at 2:30 pm. Burial service will be held Monday, April 8^th at 10:00 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Dr. Richard Walker will be officiating both services.
