Dorothy Jean Herrin

Dorothy Jean Reese Herrin, age 90, of Powder Springs, passed away on October 24, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs with Rev. Alan Davis and Rev. Chip Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta.

Dorothy Jean Reese Herrin was born February 4, 1933. She grew up in the Riverside community. Jean attended Chattahoochee Elementary and later graduated from West Fulton High School where she was voted most friendly. In 1951, Jean married Clifton Herrin. They went on to have three children, Phillip (Saundra), David (Carla), and Claudia (Dave). The family made multiple moves over the years, due to Cliff’s job. From Indiana all the way to Alaska and finally retiring and returning to Georgia in 1985. After Cliff’s death in 1997, Jean moved to Powder Springs where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs and attended Frances Keener’s Sunday School Class for many years. Jean always had a smile on her face. She loved people, her children, and grandchildren, but first and foremost she loved her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Jack and Elizabeth Inez Reese and her husband, Clifton Claude Herrin.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs.
