Doris Day Davis, 83 years old, of Marietta, Ga passed away on March 19, 2021 with her family at her side. Doris was born in Atlanta, GA on August 10, 1937, the only child of parents Clarence Luther Day (Hank) and Agnes Kelley Day. She moved to Oakdale then later Smyrna where she attended Fitzhugh Lee Elementary, graduating from Campbell High School in 1955. Doris was a Campbell Panther cheerleader and loved all things sports as well as academics. Upon graduation Doris entered the work force as a secretary first with Southern Bell then later United Artists in downtown Atlanta. Doris married her high school sweetheart and began a family in 1958 in Smyrna becoming a mother of 2 daughters and a home maker. She later remarried and had another daughter which completed her family. Later she lived in Greenville SC, Memphis TN and Marietta GA where she married a high school classmate and friend. Doris loved Braves baseball, Georgia Tech and UGA football and could make a call as quickly as any umpire and knew sports lingo as well as any guy! Her hobbies were reading, sports, music, movies, shopping, travel and her pets. Doris dearly loved the Lord, her family and friends and was a lifelong Baptist. She is survived by her husband, Judson Clark Davis of Marietta, daughters Tammy Deaton Wingfield of Roswell, Susan Deaton Moore of Savannah Ga, April Leigh Smith of Maryville TN, grandchildren Allison Wingfield Betts of Sandy Springs, Ryan Horn, MD of Charleston SC, Will Roshak of Maryville TN, Daniel Roshak of Memphis TN, Gabriel Smith of Maryville TN. Doris will be greatly loved and missed by her family and friends. Funeral services provided by West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta with a graveside service for family and friends.
