Donald B. Williams, age 89 of Dallas, Georgia and widower of Deanna Jackson Williams passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday morning, February 18, 2023. He believed that every day one should reach out to others and share compassion, a hug, a kind word, a helping hand, and or laughter to those he met in daily life.
Don grew up in Hapeville, Georgia, son of the late Herman and Ora Williams. He graduated from Hapeville High School and later served in the US Army with the 385 Military Police in Germany. Following his military service, he graduated from Atlanta Law School and Georgia State University and then worked as a Probation Officer with the Fulton County Adult Probation Office. Later he was employed as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the State of Georgia and retired after 34 years as the Deputy Director.
Don is survived by his sons Glenn Williams and wife Dona, and Andy McClain and wife Conseulo. Also surviving is his sister, Nancy Henson and husband Mitchell, sister-in-law Ann Youmans and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Deanna; brothers Bill, Alan, John, and Kenneth Williams, sisters Eloise and Jean; brother-in-law Bill Waddy, and sister- in-law Tempie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24th at West Cobb Funeral Home at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta between 4:00 and 6:00. A graveside service will be at College Park Cemetery 3600 North Adams Street College Park, GA.
