Donald Ester New

Donald Ester New, age 88, of Marietta, Georgia passed away December 13, 2020 after a brief illness. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 21, 2020 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray New.

Donald was born November 15, 1932 in Douglasville, GA. He served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed at the Panama Canal. After the Army, he worked with Lockheed Martin from January 1955 until his retirement on June 30, 1993. Most importantly he loved his Lord serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Victory Baptist Church. He loved football, baseball, old cars, motorcycles and especially loved spending time with his wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a member of The Samuel S. Lawrence Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include: wife of 67 years Betty New; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
