Diamond Dimples Baker, 95, passed away July 30, 2023, with her daughters by her side, after her ongoing battle with dementia.
Born in Buford, Georgia, Diamond lived in Cobb County for most of her life. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Smyrna. She worked at Stein Printing Company from 1972 to 1987 in the Bindery Department along with her mother and brother.
Diamond was a woman who truly lived by example and not by words. She would always put others first before herself. She loved people. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, dancing, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. There will never be another Diamond Dimples.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Earl Baker, Jr., sister, JoAnn C. Elliott of Powder Springs and brother, Frank Corbin of Smyrna. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Baker of Marietta, Vickie Spruill (Randy) of Powder Springs, Linda Clay (Bobby) of Marietta, grandchildren, Jason Spruill of Dallas, Tamara Spruill (Tess) of Dallas, Olivia Skaar (Wes) of Marietta, Ryan Clay of Atlanta, and great granddaughters, Jade and Baker Skaar of Marietta.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Scotty Davis officiating. Interment at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
