Dennis William Gaydon

Mr. Dennis William Gaydon, age 91, of Social Circle, GA (formerly of Powder Springs) passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Marietta. Born in Calhoun, GA, Mr. Gaydon lived in Powder Springs for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and was a charter member of Macland Baptist Church. He retired from Lockheed after 25 years of employment, was a charter member of the West Cobb Lion's Club, and was a dedicated supporter of McEachern High School athletics. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Inez Gaydon, in 2010. Survivors include: Daughter, Jan Smith and husband Harold, Social Circle, GA; Son, Douglas Gaydon and wife Lynda, Starkville, MS; Sister, Agnes Jarosch, Orlando, FL; 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macland Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
