Dennis John Brophy

Dennis John Brophy, age 64, of Marietta, GA passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 5pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
Raised in Newington, CT, Mr. Brophy graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1968. He attended Manchester Community College where he was a member of the Omega Kappa Delta Fraternity. After moving to Georgia, he founded Abbey Appliance Company in May of 1984, where he operated the Cobb County landmark on North Cobb Parkway in Marietta until September of 2013 until he relocated it to another location on South Marietta Pkwy.
Dennis was a gentle giant of a man with a generous and caring heart that was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include: 2 Brothers, Brian Brophy, Roswell, GA and Lawrence Brophy, Plainville, CT; Fiancé: Cathy Cummings, Powder Springs, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3pm until 5pm at the funeral home.
