Mrs. Ardis Dell Field, age 77, of Hiram passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013.
A Funeral Mass will be held on 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lithia Springs.
Graveside Services and interment will be on Wednesday at 11 am CST at the Rosehill- Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro, KY where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Jerry R. Field.
Mrs. Field was born March 8, 1936 and passed away peacefully at her home. She was the daughter of Willie and Ophelia Farless and is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Jerry R. Field. She is survived by her son, Robert Wayne (Alicia) Burns of Nashville, TN and daughter, Shirley (David) Hazelip of Powder Springs, GA; one granddaughter, Shannon N. Burns of Nashville, TN and 8 step great-grandchildren: Amanda, Leandra, Kenny J., Ryann, Nicole, Alex, Alexis and Alonzo.
Mrs. Field was a hard working lady having worked many years as Banquet Manager at Gabe’s Restaurant of Owensboro, KY and retiring as a Nurse from the Carmel Home Nursing Care in 1999. She married the love of her life, Jerry Field, in 1982 and never really got over his passing in 1986.
She lived in Georgia for the last 5 years having moved from Owensboro, KY. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb. She was talented in any type of sewing and received great joy in sewing heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer patients. Whether she made you a pillow to comfort an injury or surgery, a quilt to keep you warm or made a doll for your little girl, she loved to give to others. Mrs. Field was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and a part of the West Cobb Senior Center’s Nitt Witts club. She loved her granddaughter as well as all of her step great-grandchildren and enjoyed sharing pictures of them with her friends.
The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064 on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Online Guestbook available at
