Deb leaves to cherish her memory her doting husband and best friend, Jim Wininger; one son, Weston James Wininger, and daughter-in- law, Jessica Baker Wininger, of Powder Springs GA: one daughter, Camela Rae Wininger Barry, and son-in-law, Chasen Barry, of Powder Springs GA; her father, Billy Joe Hatch of Big Sandy TN; one sister, Kimberly Baker, of Murfreesboro TN; and "grandma" in the eyes of three grandchildren; Walter James Wininger, Keith Patrick Wininger, and Amelia Anne Wininger.
Deb's pride and joy were her family and they loved being by her side whenever possible. She was gifted with a real knack for making people feel important by being a great listener and problem solver. She was incredibly thoughtful and devoted to the happiness and welfare of her family, including extended family.
Deb made living fun and easy. She was a lady of great character and uncompromising moral standards and taught us the virtues of life, not by word of mouth, but by example - she was the epitome of decency and generosity. She lived each day with purpose and a passion for life and never wavered fighting to overcome her illness.
She had a great sense of humor with a happy spirit and loved laughter! Rarely did a day go by that she didn't have a story to tell about her daily events. Deb was an avid gardener and, similar to the care of her family, spent hours creating and nurturing beautiful landscapes.
Deb served 16 years as a paraprofessional at the Dallas Elementary School, where she taught kindergarten through 3rd grade students with special learning needs. Although a very challenging position, her nurturing spirit made her a natural in turning around passed-over and forgotten children. She served two years of active duty in the US Air Force, and she also worked for the US Postal Service in the city of Powder Springs GA, as a mail carrier for 2 years.
Deb and her husband, Jimmy, met on a whim 40 years ago that led to an adventurous journey through life together. May everyone be so fortunate.
