Dawn Eileen Wilson, age 52, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, October 14, 2019. A Celebration of her Life will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at West Metro Church of Christ in Hiram, GA.
Born in Marietta, GA, Dawn lived in several states throughout the Southeast before moving back to Cobb County 34 years ago. She graduated from Kennesaw State University where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Afterwards, she worked at Cobb Hospital and for Cost Care. She loved knitting, and made hats and gloves for the Calvary Children's Home, the Paulding Pregnancy Center, and for men's shelters. She was preceded in death by her father, William Wayne Smelcer.
Survivors include: Husband of 24 years, Dave Wilson; 2 Daughters, Kayla Eileen Wilson and Emma Nicole Wilson, both of Powder Springs; Mother, Jettie Craton Smelcer, Powder Springs; Brother, Michael Wayne Smelcer, Dallas, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dawn Wilson's memory to the McEachern High School Marching Band for a Scholarship Fund.
