David Robert Brantley (everyone knew him as Robert) was born April 23,1941 in Marion, South Carolina to George Brantley and Janie Mae Pigatt Brantley. Robert passed, on June 29, 2023, in Powder Springs, Georgia. Robert's Memorial Service will be held July 22, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta Georgia.
Robert was raised in both Marion and Florence, South Carolina. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1961. Sometime after graduation, Robert moved to New York City. Robert married Sylvia Redden in 1963 and was blessed with five children Crystal, David, Christopher, Cheryl, and Tanya Brantley.
Robert worked at Mom and Pops Bagels in Long Island, New York for many years (nickname at bagel shop was Rocky). In 1987 Robert met Tina Carreras while bowling (they loved to bowl). In 1992 Robert and Tina relocated to Powder Springs, Georgia where he worked at Bagelicious until his retirement in 2016. Robert and Tina remained together for 36 years until his passing.
Robert loved to bowl, play golf, and he was an avid supporter of Wilson High School in Florence, South Carolina. Robert attended many Wilson High School Homecoming Events and always stayed connected with his fellow classmates.
Robert was preceded in death by: His Parents George Brantley and Janie Mae Brantley. Sons Christopher Brantley and David Brantley. Grandparents Eugene Pigatt and Viola Pigatt. Brother George Monroe Brantley Jr.
Robert will be dearly missed and is survived by Tina Carreras; Daughters Crystal Brantley, Cheryl Brantley and Tanya Brantley Parker; Brother Samuel Brantley and Sister Mary Brantley; Grandchildren Cori Adams, Branden Canteen, Sherray Parker and Devin Parker; Great Grandchildren Colby James Munson, Cason Lee Bare and Chloe Rose Bare; Nephews Rarenza Brantley and wife Pamela Brantley; Nadrian Vail and wife Tonya Vail, his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
