David Alan Bayer
February 22, 1960 – April 8, 2025
Born February 22, 1960 to George Albert and Blanche (Barby) Bayer, David “Dave” Alan Bayer grew up in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. He followed in the footsteps of his older sister, Deborah Ann Bayer, attending Drexel University after graduating from Wissahickon High School. A diehard Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers fan, he loved his teams almost as much as he loved British punk rock, water ice, the theater, and a good horror movie.
As an adult, he discovered his passion for acting, directing, and independent film. He was regularly seen on the comedic stages at Village Players of Hatboro and Playmasters among other community theaters in Pennsylvania. In 2001 Dave met Carey Roth, his love and rock, whom he married in 2004. Dave and Carey’s family grew in 2006 with the birth of their heart and soul, Emma Elizabeth Bayer.
In 2007, they moved to Powder Springs, Georgia where they have remained and built out the Bayer Family Farm. A lover of animals, Dave volunteered with numerous animal-related organizations when not caring for all the 4-legged family members on the Bayer Family Farm. He cherished his title of Dad above all other roles in life.
Some of his most memorable work times were at Trimfit, NCO, Amrep, Zep, and Yamaha Motor Sports’ Golf Car Division. He enjoyed bringing his wit and creativity to numerous work teams.
Dave loved traveling, high teas and culinary adventures, especially when they included wearing the most over-the-top hats. He also loved family volunteering time with MZ & Emmers Sports Bra Auction for Charity/EmPowerment, 4-H, Girl Scouts, Mostly Mutts, Trinity Rescue, and Georgia House Rabbit Society. When not with family, cheering on his teams, or volunteering, his favorite place was riding the lawn mower cutting grass on the farm while drinking sweet tea.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Carey Roth Bayer; fierce daughter, Emma Elizabeth Bayer; The Bayer Family Farm herd – Banjo, Rico, Fred, Baby J, Toni, Simon, Theo, Daisy, Maggie, Athena, and Apollo; sister, Deborah Ann Bayer; in-laws Bobbie, Tom, and Sarah Strobhar; nephew and niece, Sutton and Sloane Woodbridge; best friends Marc Rubenstein and Fran Carroll; numerous friends and family members. He joins his parents, George Albert Bayer and Blanche (Barby) Bayer; father-in-law, Michael Roth; uncle and aunt, Robert and Anne Werner, and many others in heaven.
Dave’s ashes will be spread across the Bayer Family Farm and a celebration of life party will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mostly Mutts and Trinity Rescue & Equine Sanctuary.
