Darren Richard Rakestraw, age 44, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011. Memorial Services will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
A native of Dallas, GA, Darren graduated from Paulding County High School in 1985. He earned his Masters in Education from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, and worked as a teacher at North Atlanta High School. He was a member of Hiram United Methodist Church.
Survivors include:
Mother: Frances J. Rakestraw, Hiram, GA
Sister: Carmen Nance and husband David, Marietta, GA
2 Nephews: Nicholas and Evan Nance
Father: Wendell Owen Rakestraw and Step Mother Linda, Centre, AL
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1pm until 3pm at the funeral home.
