Daniel Glenn Thomas

Daniel Glenn Thomas, age 76, of Acworth, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Macland Road Church of Christ with Phillip Satterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery. A native of Trion, GA, Mr. Thomas has resided in Acworth for over 27 years. He was a retired Navy Veteran as well as a retired auto mechanics teacher at Sprayberry High School. Mr. Thomas was a member of Macland Road Church of Christ. He was also a member of the CHVA car club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association, and the Sons of Confederate Soldiers. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, love for family, dedication to serving God, and compassion for others. Survivors include his wife, Dodi Thomas; children, Michele Kiewit and husband, Matt of Alpharetta, Christy Jordan and husband, Eric of Marietta, Kimberly Shepard of Canton and Danny Thomas of Acworth; brother, Archie Thomas of Culleoka, TN; grandchildren, Travis Perkins, Sydney Kiewit, Alisa Jordan, Evan Shepard, Parker Kiewit, Katie Shepard, Griffin Kiewit, Riley Kiewit and Emma Jordan and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made to Macland Road Church of Christ, 2732 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064. The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.
