Dan "Rudy" Maloy

Dan "Rudy" Maloy, age, 80, of Marietta passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014. Services will be held 2pm Saturday, August 2, 2014 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Talton and Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Graveside services will be held 2pm CST Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Garden Hill Cemetery in Opelika, AL with Rev. Billy Clarke officiating. A native of Opelika, Alabama, Mr. Maloy was previously employed at Lockheed where he was a flight line mechanic and retired from Delta Airlines where he was also employed as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Hollydale Baptist Church and was a member of the Springville Masonic Lodge 153 in Powder Springs where he served as Worshipful Master in 1985. Mr. Maloy was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alto Lee Maloy; brother, Richard Maloy; and sister, Emily Davis, all from Opelika, AL. Mr. Maloy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Thomaston Maloy; children, Jacqulyn Maloy Stacy (Alan Stacy) of Charlotte, NC and Pamela Maloy of Marietta, GA; sister, Delores Butts of Valley, AL; and grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Natalie, and Curtis Stacy, all of Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home from noon until 2pm on Saturday, August 2, 2014 and from noon to 2pm CST on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, AL.
