Dale Marsha Prestidge entered Life Eternal on May 11, 2022. Dale was born on December 21, 1948 to the late Robert and Domitella Colburn in Chicago, Illinois. She married Larry Prestidge on February 27, 1971 and celebrated 51 years of marriage this past February. After relocating to Marietta, GA in 1986, Dale worked as a legal secretary and a paralegal. She retired from Zurich in 2015. She and Larry sold their Marietta house in 2017 and moved to Peachtree City to be near their children, Kelli (Chuck) Barber and Michael (Taryn) Prestidge, and their grandchildren, Riley & Jake Barber and Luke and Elodie Prestidge. Dale is also survived by her siblings, Donna Crittenden, Kathy (Ralph) Winkelhake, Chary (Dave) Church, David (Paula) Colburn, and MaryAnn (Bob) Unger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
When Dale was not working, she could often be found on the tennis courts (she was a member of several Walker's Ridge tennis teams over the years) or at the pool, where she always had the best tan. Dale also loved playing cards: canasta, bridge, chinese bridge, 31, kings in the corner, pinochle - you name it, Dale knew the game and usually beat you at it!
More importantly, Dale LOVED her family and friends. Her home was often the gathering place for weekend cookouts, birthday parties, and holiday dinners, where fruit salad, PastaRoni, and slush were usually on the menu. As much as she loved, she was loved by so many others who adopted her as a surrogate mom or "Grammie."
Dale was a life-long Lutheran who loved Jesus and openly practiced her faith. She loved spending time each summer with all her family at her beloved Camp Arcadia.
Although she is greatly missed and gone too soon, we rejoice that she is once again whole and in the arms of Jesus. Although we are grieving, our sadness is evidence of a life well lived and of the joy and love that was a gift for so long.
There will be a celebration of Dale's life on Sunday, May 22 at 2:00 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City. A reception will follow the service at the Centennial Clubhouse. For those unable to attend, you may join the livestream with this link:
