Conni L. Schmitt, 59, passed away on July 25th, 2023, with family by her side, after her ongoing battle with metastasized breast cancer. Born the youngest of 6 children to Ronald and Catherine Haacker, in Racine, WI, she graduated from Case High School in 1981, and received her Associate's Degree from Bryant Stratton College in Travel and Tourism.
After college, Conni married Dan Schmitt and they welcomed Stephanie in 1987. While Conni and Dan divorced shortly after, they, along with Dan's wife Karen, remained close friends and supportive parents.
Conni began her travel career at Executive Travel in Racine, before moving to Atlanta in 1988. She started working for Carlson Wagonit Travel and American Express before her long career with Coca-Cola. Conni retired in January 2023, after 25 dedicated years with Coca-Cola, to focus on her health and family.
Conni loved to travel all over the world. She has explored more than 30 counties, enjoyed annual beach trips, and going up north to Wisconsin every 4th of July. She was always reading a book, enjoying her hot tub, or spending her time being a Nonni.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Street (Jacob); grandchildren Carter and Lawson Street; parents Ronald and Catherine Haacker; siblings Vicki Christensen, Sandy Haacker (Letha Henderson), Gary Haacker (Cathy), Lenny Haacker (Mai), and Juli Ricchio (Tony); many nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends who also called her Nonni.
Funeral arrangements will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, GA. Visitation will begin at 11am, with the funeral service to begin at 12pm, on Saturday, August 5th. There will be a celebration of life to follow at Elevation Chophouse & Skybar in Kennesaw, GA.
