Clarence Ray Bowen, age 76, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 7, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, GA with Dr. Richard Walker and Rev. Michael Boatfield officiating. Interment will held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
Ray was born May 28, 1945, in Manchester, GA to Clarence Hugh and Ruby Franklin Bowen. Ray served with the US Marine Corps. He was a guard on the US Shangri-LA in Vietnam. He was also in the US Air Force Reserve many years. Ray took early retirement from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He then worked with Assisted Living Concepts and Premier Senior Living for many years. Ray was an avid hunter and loved riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends. Ray and his wife were members of Macland Baptist Church of Powder Springs, GA
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Abbott Bowen. His children, Todd Bowen (Cindy), Smyrna GA. Scott Bowen (Pam), Lagrange, GA and Kellie Rae Parham (Jason) Waxhaw, NC. His grandchildren, Robyn Nelson (Will), Courtney Rae Bowen, Jack Bowen, Scarlett Bowen, Brayden Parham, Zachary Parham, Tyler Parham, and Kyle Parham. His great grandchildren, Tucker, Kellen, Bailey Rae and Charlie Grace and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
