Chyrl Ferguson Gibson, 78, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on January 9, 2025, due to natural causes, Born on September25, 1946, in Alabama, Chyrl grew up in Trenton, Georgia, before establishing her home in Cobb County, where she spent the majority of her life.
Chryl was a loving mother of four children, raising her two youngest on her own after the passing of her husband, John Gibson, in 1989. Chyrl was a born again Christian, with a passion for the Word of God and a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church for many years, creating lifelong friendships, before becoming a member of One Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia in 2010, where she continued to nurture her faith.
She shared a passion for horses and was also an avid sports fan who encouraged all her children to participate in, having achieved a purple belt in Taekwondo herself when she was 40.
Chyrl dedicated 31 years of her career to the Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Waybill Clerk, before retiring in 2006. She spent her leisure time reading, spending time with her grand children whenever possible, and just enjoying the peace and quiet that came with retirement.
Chyrl is survived by her three sons, Scott (Deborah) Gibson, Greenville, S.C. Elliot (Christy) Gibson, Powder Springs, GA, and Jon (Nelly) Gibson, Acworth, GA; sister, Jennifer Logan, Ringgold, GA, five grandchildren, Roy Carol "R.C." Gibson, Crystal Kukucka, Giulianna Gibson, Patrick Phillips, and Gianni Gibson. She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Gibson.
A funeral service to honor Chyrl's life will be held on January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, allowing friends and family to pay their respects. Chyrl will be laid to rest following the service at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, GA.

Chyrl will be deeply missed by her family and all who came to know her. Her journey in this life has now ended but her eternal journey of praising her Savior and basking in the glory of God has only just begun. May her soul know true peace, and forever rejoice.
