Charlotte Elizabeth Smallwood, age 73, of Marietta, Georgia passed away July 1, 2022. She is preceded in death by her father, Hollis (Bud) Smallwood and brother William (Bill) Smallwood. She is survived by her mother Eloise Helton (Smyrna, GA), brother Michael Smallwood (Smyrna, GA), sisters Sandra (Joe Erni) of Douglasville and Karen (Jon Cunningham) of Canton, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews. Charlotte was born in Atlanta, GA, and is a graduate of Pebblebrook High School where she began working at Life Of Georgia Insurance Company as part of a work/study program.She continued her work with Life Of Georgia Insurance through her retirement. Charlotte lived in Cobb County for most of her life and enjoyed many years of golf at Canterbury Golf Club along with her late ex-husband, Ken Minor and many dear friends. Charlotte was an avid reader, logging hundreds of novels each year. She loved to cross-stitch and created many beautiful pieces as gifts for family and friends. In her retirement years, she dogsat in her home, and could be known to have several furry friends lovingly piled in her lap at any time.She loved her pups and their humans, who were treasured friends to her. Charlotte loved her family with all her heart, and even through her struggles with brain cancer, lit up at the mention of her mother (Nana Mama). She attended First Baptist Church Woodstock and was encouraged by the services and through her friends in her growing devotion. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta and the Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm following visitation.
