Charles David Underwood Sr., 67, of Powder Springs, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Friday, May 15th at 1pm at Mount Paran North Church of God, Marietta. Private committal will be held at a later date.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, David was proud to call Cobb County his home his entire life. He graduated from R. L. Osborne High School in 1970. Following high school graduation, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army and Army National Guard. He married the love of his life, Manesa Atterholt, on February 12, 1972. David learned his strong work ethic while in high school as he began his retail career with Johnny Walker Men's Clothing Store. He remained in the clothing industry in various management capacities until the late 1990's. He then furthered his business career in real estate. Through his eight year career with Northside Realty, he found his passion in carpentry and founded Foursquare Home Repair and Remodel business.

David grew up at Fair Oak UMC in Marietta and devoted his life to Christ at an early age. As an adult he was a member of Mount Paran North Church of God. David was able to use his gifts of carpentry to continue to serve with International Missions, serving families and building churches, homes and orphanages for over 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Retired Brig. General Ewing Dixon 'Dick' Underwood Jr. and Alma M. Underwood.

He is survived by his loving "Bride" of 48 years, Manesa A. Underwood of Powder Springs. His two son's Charles "David" (Christina) Underwood II of Seattle, WA; Nick (Tina) Underwood of Ridgeway, SC; and Stacey Underwood of Roswell, GA.
Also by four grandchildren, Makinzy Underwood, LCpl. Charles "David" Underwood III,
SrA Branzon D. Underwood and Sydney Underwood. Brother and sisters; Nancy (Ricky) Burch of Glasgow, KY, Jane (Jerry) Ostean of Brooklet, GA, Dan (Teresa) Underwood of Woodstock, GA, and Teresa (Lee) Bowling of Kennesaw, GA.

We will remember David for his love of our Lord and Savior, his family, the United States Military, World Wide Missions, his church, family, and friends. Family requests donations be sent in lieu of flowers to Mount Paran North, Missions Department (1700 Allgood Road, Marietta, GA 30062 - 678-285-3237).
