Carrie "Penny" Butler

Carrie Mae "Penny" Butler, age 87, of Austell, GA passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, in Marietta with Chaplain Hal Cole officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at a later date.

A native of Mississippi, Penny had lived in the Atlanta area for over 18 years. She was a retired nurse who discovered a love for painting in her fifties that became her passion for many years. She was a devoted wife of 67 years, and is survived by her husband, Donald Butler, her daughters Lyn (Cary) Liphart and Karen (Brian) Mills, and son, Randy Butler. She was especially proud to be a Grandmother and Great Grandmother to her eight grandchildren and three great grandsons.
