Carol J. Sanders
March 15, 1943 - July 14, 2019
Our beloved mother, Carol Sanders, left this earth on July 14, 2019 to join a celebration with her family and friends in Heaven. She was born March 15, 1943 in the small town of Moundville, Missouri. Mom would always joke about being born on the Ides of March. She and her family moved to Yakima, Washington when she was a young girl. Mom married Gary Sanders in February of 1962. Our family moved to Georgia in 1968. Their marriage didn't last, but we were still a family.
Mom's life cannot be defined by what career she had, or by her social status. Those were not important. Friends, family, and her animals were her life. She loved her daughters, Lisa, Lynn, and Tracy with all heart and soul. Mom even loved her sons-in-law, John, Mark B., and Mark H. Her grandchildren Robert, Sarah, Stephen and Erin were her joy.
She loved her siblings who are still here, Melba, and Charles. Mom loved and missed the ones who had gone before - Ina, Lily and Gene. And she was loved in return.
Her talent for art was not well known. She drew and painted beautiful pictures. She knitted and crocheted. Her craftiness and talent were amazing. If she could figure out how to make something, she would.
Mom loved animals. She would save turtles stranded in the middle of the road. Her home became an unintentional halfway house for homeless cats. She was sure those felines networked. She fed them all, and if possible, would have them spayed and neutered. If she couldn't find them a home, they had one with her. Her dog, Sandy, has wonderful home with her daughter, Lisa.
Mom didn't say goodbye. She said, "See ya later alligator." And we, her loved ones say, "After while crocodile."
