Carmen Gibson Roberts, age 60, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away peacefully in her home on May 5, 2023. Carmen was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital on September 6, 1962, to parents Clarence and Mary Gibson. Carmen graduated from South Cobb High School in 1980 and graduated from Lee University in May, 1984.
Carmen was gifted with a beautiful voice and sang often in her church and various special occasions for family and friends. She loved to serve in her church, working with children, leading bible studies and taking on a variety of service projects and supporting missions work.
She met her husband, Tom Roberts, and moved to Las Vegas, NV for several years, where he was stationed with the Air Force. Carmen and her family moved back to Georgia and raised their daughters, Stephanie and Lauren in Cobb County.
Carmen’s faith was at the core of her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Carmen loved spending time with family and friends, ministering to others, being active in her Christian faith in many ways, and being a Nani to her 2 grandsons.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Tom Roberts; her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Andrew Shoemaker; grandsons, Ben and William; Mother, Mary Gibson; Siblings, David Gibson, Lynn Bolin and Kenneth Melton.
Carmen is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Roberts; and father, Clarence Gibson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, at 10 am, with Memorial Service to follow at 11 am at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, GA.
