Carlton Ira Meadows, Sr., 78, of Donalsonville, Georgia, died May 24, 2017, at his home in Powder Springs, Georgia, with his family by his side.
Mr. Meadows retired from United Parcel Service in 2002 after more than 27 years of service. Prior to that, he worked for many years at Piggly Wiggly Supermarkets in Macon and Augusta. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery. He was president of the Thomson Archery Club for many years. Carlton was always there to help with carpentry projects or whatever else you needed him to do. He was a much-loved husband, daddy, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jill Meadows; his children and their spouses, Lisa and Betsy Crank, Carlton and Shannon Meadows, Pam and Roger Ritchie, Karen and Chris Powell, Angela and Alan Goldthwaite, Jamie Willis, Julie Willis, and Jimmy Willis; 21 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. O. and Sybil Meadows, and his grandson, Jeffery Paris.
