Canaan Gwebu

Canaan Gwebu, age 65, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. He will be buried in Zimbabwe in the next few weeks.

Canaan immigrated to the United States in 2001 from Zimbabwe. He worked for The Marriott hotel in Indianapolis IN for 18 years. He was heavily involved in the Zimbabwean community in Indianapolis and was one of the founders of Upper Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church in Indianapolis IN.

His interests included farming, cattle ranching, and hospitality. He was a man full of big ideas.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Angeline Ndhlovu; 5 adult children: Kholwani (Concillia) Gwebu of Indianapolis, IN; Esther Ndhlovu (Philip) Shale of Indianapolis, IN; Ruth (Mark) Agola of Marietta, GA; Musawenkosi Gwebu of Indianapolis, IN, and Khanyiso (Laura) Gwebu, of Indianapolis, IN, as well as 12 grandchildren.
