Brad Douglas Fahey, 34, passed away on January 3rd, 2014. He was born in Mission Viejo, California on November 20th, 1979. In 1998, he graduated from Konawaena High School in Kealakekua, Hawaii. He went on to work at Classic Vision Care in Kennesaw, Georgia, prior to founding F5 Contracting, a construction company named in honor of his four brothers. The most important part of Brad’s life was his daughter Christie Marie Fahey, who was a persistent source of pride that he loved dearly.
Brad loved to spend his free time engaged in outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and camping. Brad was very close to his four brothers, nieces and nephew. He would make it a priority to travel the country visiting them and making sure the holidays were spent together. He also loved cars and was a skilled mechanic that could fix nearly anything. One of his brothers describes a recent visit to Georgia in which they were traveling down a four-lane road. Upon seeing an elderly woman stranded in the opposite lanes, Brad abruptly pulled a U-turn to help her change a tire. Spontaneous, selfless acts like these were common, and illustrated the truly kind and giving nature of his character.
Brad is survived in death by his daughter Christie Marie Fahey; his girlfriend Erin Melton; his parents John Goodrich and Jean Vandeman Fahey; his brothers Brandon Devin, Cole Donovan, Trevor Ryan and Joshua Kelan Fahey; his sister-in-laws Rebecca, Hannah and Melissa Fahey, his nieces Ariana and Isabella Fahey, and his nephew Tristan Fahey.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 10 at 2 pm in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta with Rev. Johnny Foster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
