Robert "Bob" Jay Rose, 71, passed on September 29th after a seven month battle with Glioblastoma. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 9th at 1pm at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, GA with a reception to follow.
Bob was born in Los Angeles, California, retired in Virginia Beach, Virginia and lived many places in between. He was admired for being an intelligent, kind, and giving man with a witty and dry sense of humor. His work ethic was second to none; he started as a plumber's apprentice as a teenager and retired as a corporate vice president who oversaw multiple impressive large scale industrial construction projects during his career. He was a stellar boss and caring mentor as well. He had a gift of seeing the potential in those around him and inspiring them to achieve both professional and personal milestones. Bob was also a proud father and even prouder grandfather. When his first grandson, Jacob, was born his excitement and love was apparent to anyone who talked with him. In his free time he loved riding and working on his Harley Davidson bikes, traveling, eating sushi, and working out.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Rose (Nancy Temple) of Bloomington, Minnesota, Melissa Strawhand (Eric Strawhand) and grandson Jacob Strawhand of Marietta, GA, his sister Susie Swim (Steve Swim), nephew Randall Swim (Acalia Swim), and niece Amanda Swim. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Rose, and his mother Rose Rose.
