Billy Thackston

Billy Franklin Thackston, age 72, of Acworth, Georgia passed away January 14, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, GA with Reverend Ronnie Richardson and Reverend Eddie Thackston officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Thackston and Ellie Mae Kendrick.

Billy was born October 2, 1949 in Marietta Georgia . Billy loved his family very much but more than his family Billy loved the Lord. If you ever called Billy and asked what are you doing most of the time his response was I am watching Jimmy Swaggert and he made sure everyone else in the house was also watching him . Billy had the best sense of humor, you never knew what he was going to do or say.

Survivors include his children Lora Richardson and son in law Ronnie Richardson of Adairsville Georgia. Zora Dawn Gibson of Acworth Georgia, Elizabeth Deanna Thackston of Acworth Georgia , Billy Franklin Thackston Jr. of Acworth Georgia and Lonnie Eugene Thackston of Acworth Georgia. 6 siblings ; Sister Era Mae Hefner of Marietta Georgia , Linda Bates of Kennesaw Georgia, Sherry Paul of Marietta Georgia , Wanda Joyce Norton of Canton Georgia , Debbie Dunn of Woodstock Georgia and Connie Clayton of Dallas Georgia, 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great grand children and many nieces and nephews .

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
