Bettye Green Williamson

Bettye Green Williamson, age 89, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away April 30, 2023 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd David Williamson, step-daughter Kathy Louise Busbin, parents James Green and Inez Goldfarb and sister Sarah Foster.

Mrs. Williamson was a native of Sebastian, FL living in Fitzgerald, GA before moving to Powder Springs, GA in 2004. She was a member of the Teacher of English organization for the period she served as teacher in Wilcox County. She earned her Bachelor Degree while teaching at Fitzgerald High in 1989. She was a member of the Georgia Teachers Association, a member of the American Legion Post in Powder Springs, GA from 2004 until around 2020 where she served on various committees. A member of Macland Baptist Church since 2004 where she served a lot of her time as Sunday School teacher, active choir member, and a member of the Good-Timers Club at the church from 2008 until its demise. She also loved to read and write and travel.

Survivors include: step-daughter: Debra Lynn (Topper) Hartness of Greenville, SC; step-grandson: Michael Edwin (Leigh Ann) Hendley of Fitzgerald, GA; four step-granddaughters: Tosha Hudson Martin of Fitzgerald, GA, Kayla Lynn (Clyde) Green of Register, GA, Tara Hartness (Christopher) Grudzielenek of Greenville, SC and Willow Hartness of Greer, SC; cousin: Patricia Miles Stevens of Powder Springs, GA.

Memorial service will be held in Fitzgerald, GA at a later date.
