Betty Payne Porterfield

Betty Payne Porterfield, age 90 of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on August 9, 2022 at Tranquility at Cobb. She was born on September 14, 1931 in Atlanta, GA, to her late parents Paul David Payne and Ruby Lee Jarrett. Mrs. Porterfield worked at Progressive Lighting as Bookkeeper for over 10 years and Lewis Elementary as Teacher's Assistant before her retirement.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Jackson Porterfield, her sister, Beverly Payne Manley, daughter; Deborah Porterfield Frantz and her great granddaughter, Kennedy Diana Bentley.
Mrs. Porterfield is survived by her daughter; Susan (Diana) Coursey - Smyrna, GA, brother Richard Lynn Payne - Sharpsberg, GA, grandchildren; Richard (Ray) Coursey - Dallas, GA, Tiffaney Bentley Wilbur - Hawkinsville, GA, Dustin Frantz - Marietta, GA, Jeff Hitt - Lithia Springs, GA, great grandchildren, Ansley Bentley, Abby Bentley, Cole Coursey, Caleb Coursey, Joseph Frantz, Caroline Frantz, Madelyn Frantz, Dalton Hitt.
Visitation for Mrs. Porterfield will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Living Stone Church @OBT, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm, followed by her funeral service at 2:00 pm with Bishop Grant Cole officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
