Betty Ruth New

Betty Ruth New, age 92, of Marietta, Georgia passed away September 27, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Geogia with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her son Ray New in 2018, her husband Donald New in 2020 and two brothers J.R. Pickelsimer and Charles Pickelsimer.

Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Georgia living in Marietta since 1948 when she moved from McKaysville, GA. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she sang in the Church Choir. She loved to garden, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with her sisters every Thursday. Betty especially loved spending time talking on the phone with her family and friends. 

She is survived by: two sisters: Ann Cannon of Austell, GA and Patsy (Steve) Crocker of Alabama; three grandchildren: Jason (Katy) New, Karen (Andrew) Maley and Katie (Kris) Gibson; daughter-in-law: Donna New; four great-grandcildren: Matthew Anderson, Jonah Homan, Trevon Maley and Taytum Gabioud.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
