Averil Wendell Taylor

On December 9, 2022, Averil Wendell Taylor, Sr made his transition in Austell, GA. He was 69 years old.

Averil is survived by his children, Averil Michael Taylor, and David Eric Taylor; and siblings Doris Ruffin of Detroit, MI, and Rosetta Reed of Detroit, MI; and best friend Kalana Collins. He was preceded in death by parents Doris Katherine Taylor, and Robert Lewis Taylor; siblings Ernest Taylor, Mamie Baskin, and Robert Lewis Taylor.

Averil was born on April 25th, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from McKenzie High School 1971 and went on to attend the University of Michigan. Averil married Uladia Taylor in 1978. They met at the University of Michigan. They welcomed Averil Michael Taylor in 1981 and David Eric Taylor in 1982. Averil spent most of his career in the computer industry working for Digital and IBM. He was a Trekkie, and a music lover with an eclectic palette. He enjoyed many different styles but seemed to like jazz and funk the most. Miles Davis was one of his favorite artists. He also had a green thumb and would spend much of his free time planting. He had a strong voice that was perfect for voiceovers, and an equally strong sense of humor.
