With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of our beloved eldest son Ashton Cole Godwin of Marietta, Georgia. Ashton was born October 20, 2003, and was 20 years young at the time of his death on October 3, 2024, while living in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Ashton attended Kennesaw Mountain High school in the magnet program and went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for a brief semester and chose to take a gap year to work on himself. In Florida, Ashton was able to make an impact on his community around him and became a very talented barista at Common Grounds Cafe.
Ashton lived a BIG life in 21 years with his passion and thirst for knowledge. Ashton was a brilliant young man and excelled in school always. Ashton had many hobbies and passions… origami, puzzles, Rubik's cubes, metal art, he was a crazy mad scientist, played alto saxophone, loved to read a good book, gaming, hunting, cooking, gardening, he was an artist, a collector, he could make vintage items new again, and above all else was an avid fisherman of all types.
Ashton brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, contagious laughter and humor, and boundless curiosity to say the least. He was a force in all areas! Though Ashton’s time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness Ashton shared with his friends and family will forever remain in our hearts and in our space.
Proceeded in death by his loving Grandparents Linda Tift Godwin and Denison Power Godwin Sr.
