Angela Teresa Vaughn

Angela Vaughn was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She died peacefully in her home on February 4, 2023, at the age of 70.
Angela was born to Nelson Vaughn and Grace Pettway Brown on December 18, 1952. After graduating Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia, Angela went on to study nursing at Georgia State University completing her studies to become a traveling Registered Nurse in 1973. Angela had a natural gift for nursing and caring for others. She had a big heart and generous spirit as was evident through her work in hospice care, and in her commitment to helping those in need.
Known as Angie, Nonnie, or Mom she could always be counted on to be there in times of need. Angela enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time at the beach, a good vodka soda, and caring for her faithful companion Sophie. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a fiery spirit with a love for life.
Angela is survived by her children Jenifer (Jimbo) Nelson and Jamie (Audrey) Jinks; grandchildren Taylor Nelson, Colin Jinks, Ashlyn Nelson, River Nelson, Laura Kate Jinks, Junior Nelson, and Liam Jinks; her brothers John (LeAnna) Vaughn and David (Lovelyn) Vaughn; as well as numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring her life on Friday, February 10, 2023, at West Cobb Funeral and Crematorium at 2480 Macland Rd. SW, Marietta, GA 30064. Visitation will be held from 9am-11am followed immediately with a memorial service in the chapel.
As Angela wished, she was cremated and her ashes will be memorialized in a small private ceremony at a later date.
